the Biggest Bubbles

Sept 20, 2014

On this particular Saturday I convinced my mom (who was in town for a conference) to drive to a Sunflower field that I had seen on Yelp. I thought it would be nice to go see sunflowers as I was getting into the Fall decor and Halloween spirit.

There seems to be a reoccurring trend where I go deep into the internets and look for things to do with unrealistic expectations upon arrival. When we pulled up (after a 2 hour drive to Nowhere, CA) not only was the sunflower field completely gone, but the people that have the nearby farm laughed when they said that Sunflowers die by late July. I was shocked and relatively pissed at the person on Yelp that posted a comment about how wonderful this sunflower field was the DAY BEFORE I decided to go. Clearly this person has never been or they just love to lie on the internet. Either way the day was not over.

We ended up driving to Tiburon which is a quaint town on the water to have a late lunch. When were were selecting a restaurant we met a man was selling "bubble makers" and I was intrigued. Similar to the balloons from the first post, I was half adult/half child running around by the water. People were congregating to see how big I could make the bubbles and how long they would last. By the end there was a small crowd watching. The kids made the best commentators because they thought I was quite a magician. BIGGEST.BUBBLES.EVER.

Until next time. Stay tuned.
